Carol Jeanne

One of the highlights of the 2016 year was the building of the Carol Jeanne, A 20ft Crab Scrape (1930 design) married to a modern day electric engine. The project completed by members of the Patuxent Small Craft Guild (PSCG) of the Calvert Marine Museum (CMM) in Solomons, MD was funded by member Bill Wright and Coordinated by member Al Suydam. These videos are part 1 & 2 of the dedication of that vessel. Although complete, other projects such as this can be seen at the Boat Shop on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Unique Boat Makes A Big Splash: The Carol Jeanne is Southern Maryland’s first electric, wooden boat. It started as a winter science project nine months ago for several volunteer members of the Patuxent Small Craft Guild (PSCG). This 20-foot open boat is owned by Bill Wright, who financed the project and worked in partnership with Annapolis Hybrid Marine.
