History of the Waterside Music Series

2019 marks the 34th anniversary of bringing live music to Southern Maryland. The Calvert Marine Museum introduced live music to our community in 1985. Since then, our Waterside Music Series has been cultivated and refined to become the most popular performing arts venue in Southern Maryland. It is the museum’s most important fundraising event and support raising nearly 40 percent of the museum’s annual budget.  Funds raised from the Waterside Music Series assist in preserving local history and educating over 20,000 children each year.

We have set the bar for all other venues to strive for with an amazing list of performers including Rock 'n Roll Hall of Famers like BB King, The Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, The Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, Heart, and more.  Country music legends such as Rascal Flatts, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr., and Willie Nelson have also graced our stage at the PNC Waterside Pavilion.  The Waterside Music Series brings variety and excitement to the picturesque Solomons Island and thanks to years of support from our community, members, Commissioners, and sponsors we will continue to bring the best in entertainment to Southern Maryland for years to come.
