Located near the parking lot is the woodworking shop. Here visitors may look into the exhibit fabrication shop and see the museum's resident master woodcarver and model maker at work. The Southern Maryland Shipcarvers' Guild maintains its headquarters in the woodworking shop where their skills are demonstrated to the public. Half models, scale boat models, figureheads, and trailboards are examples of their craft.
The shop does not have set hours, so please contact us if you have a special interest in seeing the shop.
If interested in the model boat club or in need of model boat supplies and plans, please contact Tom Younger at 410-326-2042, ext. 8070.
